About Us
The History Behind Providence Place
Providence Place Senior Living was created and founded by former Pennsylvania Governor George M. Leader in 1998 and continues to be owned and managed by the Leader family. As Governor Leader expressed, “We pride ourselves on creating value for our residents. Being a small, private company gives us a distinct advantage—we can respond to feedback from our residents and their families quickly and without the bureaucracy of a larger firm.”
President and CEO — David Leader
As the son of founder, George Leader, David inherited a passion for improving the quality of life for the elderly. After a 20-year career in manufacturing and marketing with Fortune 500 firms, David returned to Pennsylvania to join the family business of senior living. Working in operations for Country Meadows Retirement Communities from 2002-2013, David became Chief Operating Officer and developed a reputation as an innovator and an advocate for seniors. During this period, David reinforced Country Meadows’ reputation for outstanding quality and upgraded their educational and activity offerings, while dramatically expanding the level of resident choice and control.
In June of 2013, David was elected President and CEO of Providence Place Senior Living. Like Country Meadows, Providence Place is owned and operated by the Leader Family and these two “sister” companies are among the largest providers of personal care and assisted living in the Commonwealth. David has helped make Providence Place not only a leader in quality care but also a leader in providing outstanding value to its customers. He is committed to reinvesting in our facilities and has undertaken to upgrade and update each of our five communities.
David has made time to give back to his profession, serving as Chair of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association 2013/14 and as a member of the Governor’s Alzheimers Disease Task Force in 2013. David and his leadership team continue to be innovators in the senior living field—they are committed to offering residents a community in which they can continue to be in charge of their own lives—deciding when to get up in the morning, what local dishes to put on the menu and what outings and activities they wish to undertake. David believes, “Our residents don’t want us to merely entertain them; they want to continue to lead useful and purposeful lives.”
David received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of PA and a BSE in Civil Engineering from Princeton University. He currently lives in the Hershey area with his wife, Liesa, his youngest daughter and two very spoiled dogs.
Chief Financial Officer — Marianne Denlinger
Marianne was named CFO after serving as the organization’s VP of Finance and Controller. She is responsible for the oversight of all accounting, payroll, information systems, and finance related functions. Marianne’s strengths include process improvement and ability to translate financial information for use in developing operational strategy. Prior to senior living, Marianne worked in various industries such as brain-injury rehabilitation, confectionary manufacturing, and construction management. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Shippensburg University and an MBA from Lebanon Valley College.
Marianne resides in Elizabethtown with her husband Matt. They have two sons, Austin and Cade. They are a sports family and her weekends are often spent traveling to watch their various collegiate soccer and baseball games. When not working or watching sports, you will find her behind a camera, preferably at the beach.
Chief Operating Officer — Kimberley Perchak
Working for a small family-owned and operated company inspired and motivated Kim to work hard, be resilient, and take risks to become successful. In 2009, Kim started working for Providence Place as an LPN. Throughout her career, she has held numerous positions within the organization, such as Connections Director, Business Office Manager, Director of Wellness, and Executive Director. Advancements in her career have given her the experiences to lead all of our campuses to success. She has been instrumental in developing additional strong leaders in our company.
Kim lives in Drums, PA with her husband, Eric, and son, Marcus. She enjoys traveling with her family. A few days a year, Kim will set off on a solo adventure. Rarely does she get the chance to sit with herself and simply be. Solo travel provides the opportunity for her to do just that – embracing being alone on a beach.
