The Veterans Benefits Assistance Program provides Providence Place residents assistance to determine their eligibility to receive the Aid and Attendance (A&A) Pension available through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The program also provides assistance throughout the entire application process.
The Aid and Attendance Pension provides benefits for veterans and surviving spouses who require routine assistance to perform personal functions required in everyday living either in a personal care or assisted living community or in their own home.
The amount awarded is determined by an individual’s assets, income and medical expenses. The maximum benefit amounts are:
Up to $2,229 for the veteran
Up to $1,432 per month for a surviving spouse
Up to $2,642 per month for the veteran and his/her spouse
Our Veterans Benefits Assistance Program representative will assist residents and prospective residents to connect with their local VA office. This will aid to determine eligibility for A&A as well as to provide assistance throughout the application process which may take between 6 and 12 months.
